    1. AWARDS: Have you received nationally or internationally recognized prizes or awards for excellence in your field of endeavor?
      (8 CFR 204.5(h)(3)(i))
    2. Examples of awards may include, but is not limited to:

      • Start-Up Funding (VCs, Angels, etc.) may be deemed an award under this criterion.
        Please check Yes.
      • Patents may be deemed an award under this criterion. Please check Yes.
      • Typically academic awards while in school are not considered. You may still check Yes, if
        you would like us to evaluate the award to determine if it will meet this criteria.

    3. MEMBERSHIPS: Evidence of membership in associations in the field that demand outstanding achievement of their members, as judged by recognized national or international experts.
    4. You must show that membership in the associations is exclusive, meaning that it is limited solely
      to those who have been judged by recognized national or international experts as having
      attained outstanding achievements in the field for which classification is sought.
      The Service may discount membership where it was based:

      • Solely on a level of education or years of experience in a particular field.
      • On the payment of a fee or by subscribing to an association’s publications.
      • On a requirement, compulsory or otherwise, for employment in certain occupations,
        such as union membership or guild affiliation for actors; bar associations for lawyers,
        etc..

      Examples of membership may include, but is not limited to:

      • National Academy of Sciences.
      • Invitation to join an incubator or accelerator.

    5. Published material about you in professional or major trade publications or other media. The materials must relate to your work in the field for which EB-1A is sought.
    6. Evidence of your participation, either individually or on a panel, as a judge of the work of others in the same or an allied field of specialization.
    7. Examples for this criterion may include, but is not limited to:

      • Serving as a reviewer for a conference or academic journal
      • Serving as a judge on a dissertation committee.
      • Serving as a judge at a hackathon
      • Serving as a judge during a pitchfest

    8. Evidence of your original scientific, scholarly, artistic, athletic, or business-related contributions of major significance in the field. This is typically the most critical part of your petition and forms the thesis for your case.
    9. Evidence of your authorship of scholarly articles in the field, in professional or major trade publications or other major media.
    10. Evidence of your work being displayed in the field at artistic exhibitions or showcases.
    11. Examples for this criterion may include, but is not limited to:

      • Art shows
      • Performances
      • Poster presentations at scientific conferences

    12. Evidence that you have performed in a leading or critical role for organizations or establishments that have a distinguished reputation.
    13. Evidence that you have commanded a high salary or other significantly high remuneration for services, in relation to others in your field.
    14. Evidence that you’ve achieved commercial successes in the performing arts, as shown by box office receipts or record, cassette, compact disk, or video sales.
    15. Other Comparable Evidence
    16. If any of the criteria do not readily apply to you, we may submit “comparable evidence” to
      establish your eligibility.
      Examples of comparable evidence may include, but is not limited to:

      • Commercial success of a start-up you founded.
      • Evidence that others in your field are implementing your ideas.
      • Invitation to speak or teach (university, TED talks).
      • Large number of followers on social media or blog site

    17. For National Interest Waiver(EB-2 NIW) cases, please describe how your proposed endeavor has both substantial merit and national importance.
